Anthrologica analysed country-level experiences and lessons learned from the UNICEF communication approach for introducing pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) and rotavirus vaccine (RV) into national immunisation programmes across 34 countries. We focused on the progress made in integrating the communication interventions and complementary messaging about pneumonia and diarrhoea protection, prevention and treatment. We conducted a strategic desk analysis of significant literature and programme documentation, and completed a series of interviews with key stakeholders in UNICEF regional offices. The key findings were synthesised to produce two reports with case studies that were presented to the GAVI secretariat.
